Meets the Requirements of the Energy Star Program

This government sponsored program sets strict guidelines for several U.S. climate zones to help consumers select products that conserve energy and increase energy savings. While other companies charge extra for energy efficient options, our Lifescapes Signature Series products come standard with the energy efficient options that meet and exceed Energy Star requirements.

With the Energy Tax Credit in mind, there's even more of an incentive to choose windows with high-performance energy saving options. So, to be eligible for the tax credit, you need to choose wisely and all our high efficiency glass packages make that easy.

If you're thinking about replacing your windows, remember that the NEW energy tax incentive included in the 2011 Federal Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency can save you money! It is important to know that not all ENERGY STAR rated products qualify for this tax credit.

2011 Federal Tax Credits for Consumer Energy Efficiency

NOTE: Tax credits that were 30% up to $1,500 EXPIRED on December 31, 2010. New tax credits were passed, but at lower levels. Summary of changes.

Tax Credit Amount: 10% of the cost, up to $500, but windows are capped at $200.

Requirements

• Must be ENERGY STAR qualified.
• You do not have to replace all the windows/doors/skylights in your home to qualify. And it doesn't need to be a replacement either - installing a new window where there wasn't one previously (like in an addition) qualifies.
• Tax Credit does NOT include installation cost
• Requirements for this tax credit exceed Energy Star requirements. Regardless of the region of the country, a product is only eligible if it is equal to or below a U-Factor of 0.30 and SHGC of 0.30.
  All of our products qualify when manufactured with either the Energy Green or ESM Glass package.
